Our MISSION

At SIUYEH, our goal isn’t just to fill your belly with delicious food - but instead to invite you to join us where flavours, friends and community come together in an atmosphere that’s the perfect spot to unwind.

In Chinese culture, Siu Yeh (宵夜) refers to a cherished tradition of late-night dining. Often enjoyed after an evening out or a long workday, Siu Yeh is a time to unwind over shared plates, grilled snacks, and comforting dishes. It’s about savoring simple yet flavorful foods and connecting with friends in the warmth of the night. From sizzling skewers to bold flavors, Siu Yeh brings out the fun and spontaneity that define the Asian food scene after dark.

HANSON & MICHAEL’S STORY

Founded in 2024, SIUYEH began as a series of pop up dinners inspired by Michael Lam and Hanson Chung’s shared love for unforgettable late night meals, travel and community.

Hanson, a chef by trade who’s cut his teeth for 15+ years across Izakaya Tomo, Hanjan, Zenari’s, and The Keg amongst being the chef-in-residence for his friends and family, is excited to bring his first concept to Edmonton along with Michael.
